Brackets Adding Tournament Groups

GROUP is a set of teams within the tournament who are competing for a championship. For example, if the tournament has "U10 AA" and "U11 A, and those age groups will each have their own champion, then those are two separate Groups.

Groups usually define different ages of teams (U10, U11, U12) but can also define different levels of play (or both). (AAA,AA,A, HL, etc)

To add group(s) go to Brackets—> Tournament Groups (0) then click the Add Group(s) button at the top right of the page.

A window will open.

In the New Group Name(s) window enter your group(s) one per line. The order you list the groups will display the same order on your public pages. Click Insert & Close if you are done.

Your groups will now be listed on the Tournament Group page.

If your tournament runs over multiple weeks/weekends, you will need to define when each group is playing. On the top right of the page, click Bulk Group Editing —> Dates and a window will open

Choose the specific groups who are playing the first weekend and enter the start and end dates for these groups. Click Update. Repeat this same process for the groups playing the next weekend.

Super Groups:

For large tournaments, there is no limit to how many groups are created. However, when there are a lot of groups it might make sense to create "Super-Groups", which are just a group of groups and can help with organization when groups have common things between them. For example, if the tournament had both "Under 13" and "Under 15" age groups, but "AAA", "AA", and "A" levels of play for each, then an option would be to create super groups for each age, and groups for each level of play who belong to their respective age super group.

Under 13 (super group) Under 14 (super group) Under 15 (super group)
AAA AAA AA
AA AA A
A A

Deleting a Group:

To remove a group, hover over the group to be deleted and click the trash bin on the right-side of the table.

A group cannot be removed if teams exist for the group in the Manage Teams—>Registered Teams page. Check your Removed Teams page and delete any teams listed for the group.
